Barbara, what is your title?

Vice President.

How long have you been at Advisors Living?

Just under a year. I joined last September.

Where is your office?

At 745 Boylston St., the main office.

What communities and neighborhoods do you work in?

I primarily focus on the Downtown markets, the Back Bay, Seaport, Waterfront Beacon Hill, South End. I service high-rise condos, where I’ve spent most of my past 20 years.

How long have you been in the real estate business?

Twenty-two years. Before Advisors Living, I sold in new construction high-rise buildings in Boston and worked with some of the best developers and top marketing agencies in Boston. I sold Pierce Boston, The W, The InterContinental, and most recently Lovejoy Wharf.

Where do you live?

Brookline.

What do you like about the real estate game?

There’s so much. For me it’s the relationships I’ve cultivated over the past 20 some years. When I left Related Beal, I was excited to give general resales a shot. I’m focusing on building that – for me it’s building relationships with the people I meet, not just about selling a property. I love meeting new people.  I love new construction sales, but I now have an appreciation for the resale side. I’m excited to see where it takes me.

OK, tell us about the real estate market.

Well, with interest rates on a rise I’m seeing a shift in the market. With rising interest rates coupled with low inventory, and a cooler summer homebuying season approaching, the market is slowing. Citywide, the months of available inventory is around 2.4, whereas one year ago it was at 2.8 months, indicating a shift favoring sellers.

How do clients find you?

Mostly through referrals and my referral base from my previous projects and clientele. That’s probably my biggest lead generator. I’m building my brand so people can find me across social media platforms -– Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook.

What was your last deal?

A two bedroom, two bath, 1,245-square-feet home at Lovejoy Wharf. We put it on the market at $1.425, and it closed at $1.4 million. I have another listing at Lovejoy -- it’s a large one-bedroom with a huge private terrace. It’s listed for $1,195,000.

What do you do when you are not showing houses?

I love to cook, trying new restaurants, working out, and reading self-development books and inspirational podcasts. I enjoy walking my dog Harley, she’s a silver Lab. Everyone should have a dog. When I need to decompress, I cook. I love quick and easy meals, but my specialty is Bolognese. I would put mine up against anyone’s.
